Constant stress and the pressures of everyday life can take a heavy toll on our skin. Combined with aging, environmental factors, and a lack of time to take care of our skin, this can leave our skin looking extremely damaged. Sunburns, blemishes, and dark spots can make our facial skin appear fatigued and worn out.

Several people opt for non-surgical rejuvenation treatments to revitalize the skin and bring back its youthful appearance. The MicroLaserPeel is a popular laser peel technique that has proven to be quite effective in restoring the health of the skin.

The MicroLaserPeel

A MicroLaserPeel uses a type of laser known as the Erbium Yag laser to remove the superficial damaged layers of facial skin. After these layers are removed, fresh unblemished skin grows in their place. This reduces wrinkles, dark spots, blemishes, and other forms of skin damage, leaving your face looking young and fresh.

How Is a MicroLaserPeel Performed?

Like any other peeling procedure, the MicroLaserPeel removes a thin layer of damaged skin. The laser is directed at the treatment area, where it gradually strips away the damaged layer of the skin.

Prior to the procedure, the skin is numbed with a topical anesthetic agent. This typically takes place around 45 minutes before the procedure. Because of this numbing, patients experience only minimal discomfort during treatment. Most patients report a stinging feeling initially, but it soon disappears.

During the laser peel, the damaged skin is literally vaporized layer by layer. The vaporization is the result of the water content within the skin cells.

Aftercare

Immediately after the peel treatment, patients are likely to notice a minor degree of temporary bruising and swelling. In addition, patients can expect a mild sloughing of the skin and itchiness.

Follow our aftercare instructions as closely as possible to ensure quality results that last. The skin should be treated with utmost care and should not be scratched, as it will be very vulnerable to injury. Patients are recommended not to step out in the sun for a week or so in order to avoid causing heat injury to the tissues.

Peeling skin should not be pulled off and should be allowed to fall off on its own. Medications are to be applied as prescribed.

What to Expect

The MicroLaserPeel rejuvenates the skin and gives it a healthy glow. The results of the MicroLaserPeel procedure are visible once the sloughing has completed and the redness and bruising have disappeared. Patients will notice a more youthful appearance and will find that fine wrinkles have disappeared.

A proper skincare routine can help maintain the results of your MicroLaserPeel. A follow-up procedure may be required every now and then as recommended.
