Are Sagging Eyebrows Making You Look Tired?
Do you look older on the outside than you feel on the inside? Are your saggy eyebrows making you appear tired? If drooping brows and age lines and wrinkles are all you see when you look at yourself in the mirror, it’s time for a change.
There is an effective way to resolve signs of the aging process and restore your youthful looks: a brow lift. This plastic-surgery procedure can address a number of aesthetic issues.
Why do I Have Sagging Brows and Facial Age Lines?
Aging and exposure to dust, smoke, and the sun’s rays all lead to the loss of collagen and elasticity in the skin. Due to this and the constant downward pull of gravity, the eyebrows droop over the years. This also causes the formation of a number of facial wrinkles and folds.
A brow lift is a simple surgical procedure that corrects the position of sagging brows and resolves forehead wrinkles. The procedure takes years off the face.
How Is a Brow Lift Performed?
We perform a procedure known as a lateral brow lift. The lateral brow lift takes less time to perform than traditional brow lifts, since a smaller degree of change is usually made.
The lateral brow lift begins with administering local anesthesia and IV sedation in order to make the patient comfortable for the duration of the surgery. This also helps to avoid any pain by numbing the area.
Once the anesthesia and sedation have taken effect, an incision is made at the hairline and the skin is lifted. The tissues in the area are altered in order to elevate the outer corners of the eyebrows, creating more of an arch. The other parts of the eyebrows are left unchanged.
As the skin is tightened, forehead lines and crow’s feet disappear. Eyelid hooding is also reduced as a result of this procedure. At the end of the procedure, the incisions are sutured closed with the help of medical stitches.
A Brow Lift or Botox – Which Is Right for You?
In many cases, injections of Botox can achieve similar results to the lateral brow lift. We also provide these injections. The main differences between these procedures are the time they take to perform, the recovery time afterwards, and the length of time the results last.
Botox takes less time to perform than a lateral brow lift and requires no recovery time, but its results can only last for around three to four months. The lateral brow lift requires only minimal recovery, and its results are visible for around five to ten years.
