Conveniently located to serve Salinas and Monterey, CA

The mini facelift in Salinas, CA, is a less invasive version of its traditional counterpart, the full facelift. Also sometimes called the “weekend facelift” and the S-lift, this procedure offers results that are subtler and less dramatic than those of a traditional facelift.

What Is a Mini Facelift?

Younger patients typically do not need correction of harsh signs of the aging process. Instead, these patients are concerned about the subtler signs of aging that are starting to appear in their 30s and 40s. These patients can benefit from a mini facelift.

A mini facelift allows patients to achieve a refreshed and youthful look by rejuvenating sagging cheeks and jowls. In the mini facelift, a plastic surgeon suspends the SMAS layer of the face to make the skin look smooth and taut.

Mini facelift downtime is significantly reduced compared to that of a traditional facelift surgery. This is because this surgery requires the creation of smaller incisions and involves fewer changes to the tissues.

Your Mini Facelift Consultation

During your consultation, a full medical history will be taken by your plastic surgeon. This will include a discussion of past procedures, any allergies, and any medications or supplements currently being taken. An examination will also be performed.

The two of you will discuss your goals for the mini facelift, and the plastic surgeon will go over the details of the surgery. Your surgeon will advise you not to smoke for about four weeks before the procedure. You will also have to avoid NSAIDs like aspirin and Ibuprofen; these increase the chances of bleeding.

I have had nothing but excellent experiences every time I go to your office I let all my friends and family know about how great your office is. Thank you for making every visit great!

The Surgery

The mini facelift is often done under local anesthesia with sedation, in contrast to the traditional facelift, which typically requires general anesthesia. The surgery begins with a tiny incision at the hairline near the ear.

Through this, the surgeon lifts the SMAS layer. It can be lifted and either plicated or imbricated. Imbricated means that the SMAS muscle is dissected, lifted, trimmed of fatty tissue, and stitched back together in a raised position. Plicated means the muscle is not dissected, just lifted. After the surgery is completed, the surgeon will suture the incisions closed.

Mini Facelift Recovery and Healing

After the surgery, the surgeon dresses the incisions with a compression bandage, which curbs swelling. The bandage will also aid in healing. A head dressing may be placed on the head, reaching down to the chin.

Post-operative bandages will be removed in two days to a week, depending on your healing. Stitches will be removed during a follow-up appointment.

Expect to have some swelling and bruising, which is normal after a mini facelift. Time off from work will be required, and you won’t be able to partake in strenuous activities for at least 2 weeks after the procedure.

Mini Facelift Cost

The price of a mini facelift procedure depends on several factors. The amount of time required to perform the procedure affects the final cost, as does the type of anesthesia used and the exact techniques utilized.
